On The Cusp Of Change
Updated: Sep 6
September is upon us, you can feel that change is edging closer, summer is ebbing slowly away making way for Autumn, you can feel the energy shift in the air, as nature begins to prepare for the next season.
I personally adore the shift in September, almost like a New Year but without the New Year expectations. Change in January can feel like a "should", like it is almost being forced upon us by society and the media. Where as September feels different, a softer more gentle state, a fresh start without all the expectations, an opportunity to move in a different direction, at a different pace if you wish to.
And that's the difference, September I think is the opportunity to do things differently, to carve out a new path, to get back in touch with what you want but only if you wish too.
“Notice how the trees do not cling to their leaves. Fall is about releasing the old to make way for the new.”
When I came across this quote, (credit unknown unfortunately) it perfectly summed up my thoughts around September, how it is an opportunity to release what isn't working for us anymore. Perhaps what doesn't feel right for us or what we no longer want in our lives, by releasing this just like the leaves it can make way for new growth or what we do want more of in our lives. We too can shake off the old and make way for the new. Maybe we can shake off the high expectations we place upon ourselves, perhaps we can shake off the urge to serve everyone else's needs leaving nothing for ourselves, perhaps we can shake off the negative internal chatter that we have been holding onto.
So I wonder what do you need to shake off and let go of?
What could you release that by doing so would allow space for something else?
If this resonates and you feel the pull of making gentle nurturing change then you may be interested in my Seasonal Re-Set session, which is a one off session to re-evaluate what you need to release so that you can move into this new season with energy, clarity and excitement. It's a chance for you to get clear on what you want to weave in and at the same time start to gently release those things that aren't working for you anymore. My hope is that you will come away feeling uplifted, clear on the direction you are taking, knowing what is important for you as we edge into Autumn.
So as we move through September, notice those leaves fluttering to the floor and as you do I hope you use that as a kindly reminder to pause and ask, "what do I need to let go of so that I can make way for the new?"
